Hoodies for the Homeless, A Rotary Service Project, Brings Warmth

Rotary Roselle-Roselle Park Club President Donna Eleazer thanked the communities of Roselle and Roselle Park and club members for making its most recent service project, Hoodies for the Homeless, a success. In her statement Ms. Eleazer said, “The warmth shown by the community will bring a warmth to people who reed it most, the homeless.”

From November through November of 2023, the Rotary club asked for donations of hoodies to be donated to Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless, which members of the club help deliver at the Homeless Coalition’s Annual Service Fair on January 24, 2024 in Elizabeth, NJ. The response included a large amount of gentle used and new hoodies for all ages and sizes.

A committee of the Rotary club including Sheila Williams, Jenny Baguidy, Patricia Gois, Rhonda Johnson and Ms. Eleazer coordinated the collection of the hoodies in cooperation with the public schools of Roselle and Roselle Park, Pinho’s Bakery, and Roselle Public Library.
Pictured are Dadisi Sanyika, and Rotarians Donna Eleazer, Rhonda Johnson and Bob Zeglarski, who volunteered to distribute the hoodies at the Coalition’s service fair.
