Rotary Celebrates Black History Month
The Spirit of Martin Luther King Jr. Award Recipients: Ameer Gardiner, Abraham Clark High School; Saviyah d. Reed, Roselle Park High School; & Robbie Riviere, Roselle Catholic High School

Each year the club rewards students, selected by their guidance counselors, for exhibiting the ideals of Martin Luther King Jr. His ideals and that of Rotary align.
Rotarian Paul Mickiewicz (L) introduces the speaker, Author Les Hanson, who presented "10+1" in honor of Black History Month. During his presentation, Mr. Hanson spoke of the childhood experiences of ten notable African Americans. They included Carter B. Wilson, Harriet Tubman, Fredrick Douglas, Rosa Parks, W.E. DeBois, Oprah Winfrey, Mohammad Ali, Coretta Scott King, Martin Luther King Jr., Michael Jackson and Michele Obama. And, the Plus One is YOU!

Rotary Roselle-Roselle Park President Keyanna Jones presented a program entitled, "Make Your Place in History" as part of the club's celebration of Black History Month.
